Lil Jon had to fly home to Atlanta to vote, according to a message he posted early this morning on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

“6AM FLIGHT TO ATL TO VOTE BECAUSE GA NEVA SENT MY BALLOT AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS!!!” he wrote. “U CANT DISCOURAGE ME!”

Fulton County Elections Director Rick Barron told the AJC’s David Wickert that his office mailed an absentee ballot to Lil Jon on Oct. 27 after receiving his application Oct. 24.

“A voter can request an absentee ballot up to six months in advance and we can mail them 45 days in advance. His application came in on the late end of the spectrum,” Barron said via e-mail.

Barron hasn’t a clue whether Lil Jon received the ballot. “We use the U.S. mail and have no tracking mechanisms in place,” he said.

As to whether Lil Jon spoke to anyone in Fulton County Registrations and Elections, Barron said: “My two main absentee ballot people have no recollection of him calling, so I doubt if he did.”

Early voting started in Georgia on Oct. 13, by the way.

All’s well that ends well, though. By mid-afternoon, Jon had his Georgia Peach sticker on and celebrated by posting “JUST GOT DONE VOTING .”

He didn’t say where he had to jet home from. Perhaps Los Angeles, given the super early departure time.

His Twitter feed has been full of voting updates today. He’s been retweeting media coverage of his trip home to vote, retweeted an offer from U.S. Senate hopeful Michelle Nunn’s team to drive him to the polls (no word if he had to take Team Nunn up on that offer) and retweeted a message from his “Yeah!” collaborator Usher, who tweeted, “Don’t let anything stop you getting to the polls today.”

Jon stars in a video urging voter turnout. Here it is:
