Tommy Brown, who served as a producer for the reality show “Being Bobby Brown,” thanked the crowd on behalf of Bobbi Kristina.

“I know she thanks all of y’all,” he said. “Continue to pray for us all. Remember when you wake up we should all pray for each other.”

Rapper Chubb Rock greeted the crowd with a warm welcome.

“The word is why,” he said. “Not why did this happen, why her? It’s more like why are we here? Love is here.”

He offered words of hope.

“God is in the healing business,” he said, recalling that a friend was in an accident once and put in a medically induced coma. Things looked grim but he ran into his friend months later.

“He said, ‘God made this happen,'” Rock recalled.

He urged supporters to remain faithful.

“All I see here is love,” he said. “We’re not here for the new world, social media. We’re here for the old world, prayer. Tonight might be a good time to hug those loved ones. Don’t take nothing for granted.”

Riverdale city officials were on hand as well.

Cie Cie McGee, director of cultural affairs/leisure services for the city of Riverdale’s said she was “greatly pleased to see everyone out here who’s ready to shine a light.

“We put on all sorts of concerts and events but it does my heart good to see you all here to lift up this family,” she said. “Lift them up in love.”

Riverdale Mayor Dr. Evelyn Wynn-Dixon led her remarks with Scripture and concluded with song.

“We’re going to pray for deliverance,” she said.
