“Birdman” star Michael Keaton will play McDonald’s visionary Ray Kroc in “The Founder,” which will film in Atlanta according to numerous industry reports including this one in Deadline.
“The Founder” will be directed by John Lee Hancock. Producers include Jeremy Renner, who filmed the 2014 movie “Kill The Messenger” in Atlanta.
Keaton appeared in “Need for Speed,” the high-speed adventure movie starring Aaron Paul that filmed largely in metro Atlanta and elsewhere in Georgia. I’m not sure how much time Keaton spent in Atlanta on that project; his “Need for Speed” scenes were all filmed in one room, with him sitting at a desk on a computer, so it could have been anywhere.
