Tyler Perry, a stalwart friend to the family of Bobbi Kristina Brown in trying times, is asking for peace and prayer.

In a message posted on his public Facebook page he castigated the “blatant disrespect, lies, and ignorance” surrounding Bobbi Kristina, who is in hospice care after being hospitalized since a Jan. 31 medical emergency.

“This morning I woke up with Whitney on my mind. I couldn’t help but think about all that she must have dreamed for her child. I know this was not her dream… And as difficult as this time is for the people that love both Whitney and Krissi, what makes it more egregious is the blatant disrespect, lies, and ignorance that are rapidly printed in this awful time. For some reason, it has become human nature in our society to look for, seek out, and celebrate darkness, glory in tragedy, and enjoy reading and reporting it.

It makes me sad to know that everybody wants to be the first to report something awful. So much so, that they find it OK to speak death onto those who are still alive. May I ask you all to please show some decency and respect? Not only to Krissi’s family, but also to the other families that are there in this place. Not only is Krissi at the center but there are several other families who are grieving the loss of their loved ones at the same time. It’s heartbreaking to think that even in a time like this, this child is still not allowed any peace. I assure you, the family will issue an official statement if something changes. Until then, can we just pray for Krissi, and the Houston and Brown families?”

Perry, who has visited the Duluth hospice where Bobbi Kristina has been taken, has been a trusted supporter of the family now and in the past. After the 2012 death of Bobbi Kristina’s mother Whitney Houston, he arranged to have her remains transported from Los Angeles to New Jersey via his private plane.

He was among the speakers at Whitney’s funeral, saying, “Whitney Houston loved the Lord. I know nothing separated her from the love of God.”

The family in June announced the decision to move Bobbi Kristina to hospice care after months of being hospitalized, saying she was “in God’s hands.”

Her court-appointed representative has sued her one-time companion Nick Gordon, alleging physical violence and financial impropriety.

Tension among her family members have continued to swirl as she has remained in hospice care. At one point someone apparently took a photo of the incapacitated young woman and tried shopping it to celebrity media outlets, spurring outrage among her relatives.

The family has had little to say publicly in recent weeks. Her father, Bobby Brown, performed a July 4 concert in Atlanta. He apologized for forgetting lyrics and alluded to the ordeal but didn’t mention his daughter specifically.
