UPDATE: Mayor promises a “dissection” of what went wrong at TomorrowWorld

TomorrowWorld announced it will refund ticket purchasers unable to attend on Sunday due to crummy weather and awful conditions.

Organizers had to halt access to the event due to the messy conditions of the festival grounds brought on by all the rain.

But some festival goers are sharing horror stories that suggest a simple refund isn’t going to make them feel satisfied.

“It was complete chaos,” Danielle Bagnuolo told the AJC during a Monday morning interview.

Apart from the rain, she said, the festival seemed to be bogged down in a sea of logistical snafus: bugs with the “Pearls” currency exchange rates, shuttle drivers who seemed confused, lax security and overflowing restroom units.

“It was disgusting,” Danielle said.

Many unsatisfied patrons have filled their social media feeds with photos illustrating the mayhem. The AJC has requested a response from TomorrowWorld.

I asked for some input after seeing the above photos:

.. and folks started responding with their tales of soggy woe:

Plenty of Facebook users have taken to TomorrowWorld’s page to register their ire. The festival’s refund announcement spurred many comments criticizing the apparent lack of a rain plan:

Discontent has fueled the formation of a new page, called “TomorrowWorld 2015 Sucks.”

Sarah Gray lamented her chilly early morning plight via photos like this one:

Worst experience ever,” she wrote.

Some festival goers apparently made it through with their optimism unhindered.

All you unhappy people stay home, see you next year tomorrowworld you have to key to happiness,” Anica Dimitrova posted on the festival’s official page.

Lissa Peterson took a sanguine approach, posting: “Tomorrowworld be like “but did u die?!”

Michele Bagnuolo, Danielle’s mom, said she and her husband debated whether to let Danielle attend. They were mostly worried about traffic getting there, she said.

Her daughter’s report from the scene left her furious.

“The rain didn’t cause this,” Michele said. She was particularly incensed at reports of rampant marijuana use despite the festival’s advertised “drug free” environment.

“I’m not a prude,” Michele said. “Weed is weed. But come on.”

What was your experience? Will you go back next year?
