Jennifer Aniston and Queen Latifah, both of whom have filmed previous projects in Atlanta, are back in town and back in action.
Jen is here for “The Yellow Birds,” a drama involving the war in Iraq. Says imdb: “Two young soldiers, Bartle (Alden Ehrenreich) and Murph (Tye Sheridan) navigate the terrors of the Iraq war under the command of the older, troubled Sgt. Sterling (Jack Huston).
All the while, Bartle is tortured by a promise he made to Murph’s mother before their deployment.”
She previously filmed “Wanderlust” and “Mother’s Day” in Atlanta.
Queen is here for Lee Daniels’ new pilot, tentatively named “Star.” The “Empire” creator set up shop here in the past few weeks.
Her work here has included “Miracles from
Heaven,” which filmed over the summer, “Joyful Noise,” the “Steel Magnolias” remake Kenny Leon directed for Lifetime and the HBO movie “Bessie,” for which she recently received a Golden Globes nomination.
Welcome back, ladies!
