Miss Universe exec wants Steve Harvey back as host

Steve Harvey is welcome to host the Miss Universe pageant again, an executive with the organization says.

“He was funny, he was informative, he’s high energy, he’s got a great following,” Mark Shapiro, the chief content officer of the company that owns the Miss Universe Organization told the Jim Rome Show. “I definitely want him back, and I would hate to see him not come back. He’s going to want a shot to redeem himself.”

ET reported Harvey has a contract in place bringing him back as host for the next several years which the pageant folks seem to be A-OK with. Seriously – how could Steve 2.0 not be a ratings bonanza?

Harvey hasn’t had much to say about Sunday’s massive mixup since apologizing repeatedly and effusively but he did post this today:
