A page launched by Donald Trump backers in Georgia features the state flag used from 1956 to 2001, featuring the Confederate battle emblem. The page has no official tie to the Trump campaign.
Someone brought the flag to Trump’s recent rally in Macon:
The group is closed but its banner photo and mission statement are publicly accessible.
“Welcome to The Trump Factor: Georgia. We are part of a nationwide support group providing a connectivity hub between Georgia Patriots, and the REAL Trump, not the media contrived monster that you hear about all the time,” its statement reads. “Politicians, the media, corporate big wigs, their (sic) all frightened of Donald Trump, and what his presidency would mean for their decades long manipulation of the American people, and our way of life. Trump answers to God, and his wife- exclusively, and does not bow down to special interest. He is is own boss with the ability to do for America, what he has done for his multi-billion dollar enterprise- make it grow, and prosper, and persevere.”
