Beauty site confuses Oprah and Whoopi Goldberg, makes $20K apology

That awkward moment when a beauty site thought Whoopi Goldberg was Oprah Winfrey turned into a positive after profuse apologies that were graciously accepted – and the site pledged $10,000 donations each to the charity of both women’s choice.

Goldberg joined her “View” co-hosts via satellite to discuss the gaffe. She didn’t seem too put out.

“I feel pretty good if you’re comparing me to Oprah,” Goldberg said. “It could have been a lot worse!”

Told of Total Beauty’s charitable pledge, she shrugged.

“They don’t need to do that,” Goldberg said. “People make mistakes all the time. Come on, it was an honest mistake. We both look good!”

Winfrey was shown in a photo laughing it off, too.

Total Beauty invites other outlets to join their charitable campaign, posting:
