ORLANDO – Throughout the humid morning, mourners, friends and most importantly, family members breezed into the senior center that had been set up for them to receive information.
With each exit of a car, the families were besieged by the swarming media. Cesar Flores stopped briefly to talk about his daughter, Mercedez, whom he said died with a friend.
Mercedez Marisol Flores, who was 26, worked at Target and studied at Valencia Community College, according her social media profile.
“She was just a happy girl all of the time,” her dad said said, before breaking down. He’d last seen her a few days ago when she brought him something to eat. “She was my daughter.”
