UPDATE: 7 classic and crazy political convention moments

The Heisman Trophy winner supposedly was to appear on the fourth night of the convention, the same night nominee Donald Trump will speak, according to a roster obtained by the New York Times.

Late Thursday, Tebow posted an Instagram video saying it was all just talk.

“It’s amazing how fast rumors fly, and that’s just what this is: a rumor.”

Trump hasn’t yet announced who his running mate will be. Former Georgia lawmaker Newt Gingrich was thought to be among the handful of finalists still in the running.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence had been widely reported as the GOP veep choice, but Trump has postponed his official announcement owing to the terrorist attack in Nice, France on Thursday night.
