Tyler Perry and the hit AMC series “The Walking Dead” are business partners now.

Perry’s newly acquired Fort McPherson, a former army base just southwest of downtown Atlanta, is now home to 14 sound stages. His movie “Boo! A Madea Halloween,” in theaters today, filmed there as did the HBO adaptaion of “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,” starring Perry’s good friend Oprah Winfrey.

And now there’s a new sheriff in town: Rick Grimes.

“The Walking Dead is a client. They’ll be there for three years,” Perry said during a visit to the Ellen DeGeneres show to promote his new movie.

“So they’re just walking around, you see zombies?” Ellen asked. Apparently that didn’t seem appealing at first.

“That was a problem for me,” Perry said. “When they asked I was like ehhh .. I don’t do zombies, and witches, and demons, and things like that. I said, let me go watch the show. I got hooked!”

Ellen was impressed: “That’s cool that they shoot there.”

It’s not so cool in the middle of the night.

“It’s not cool that they’re walking around at 2 o’clock in the morning, zombies going grrrrr ..”

Easy problem to solve, Ellen observed: “Don’t go then!”
