Geraldo Rivera is proud to be Trump’s friend but blasts his recent tweets

Longtime broadcaster Geraldo Rivera says he counts President Donald Trump as a friend and is proud to do so – but disparages the tweeter-in-chief’s recent social media activity.

The president, never shy about blasting or ridiculing his critics via Twitter, prompted new outrage this week with his posts about MSNBC personalities Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough.

“I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don’t watch anymore),” Trump posted. “Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year’s Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!

The pair responded in a Washington Post column questioning the president’s mental faculties as critics blasted the insulting post or even reported the president to Twitter for abusive language.

Rivera weighed in on Friday, signaling his steadfast support but sounding weary of his pal’s Twitter tirades:
