Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has donated $25,000 to the American Red Cross to assist with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, and that’s just a start.

Inspired by Kevin Hart’s challenge, Johnson pitched in, plans more and is encouraging others to join him. He said his companies are donating money and he urged fellow celebrities  – and everyday Americans – to join him in helping out.

“Regardless of race and politics, we all want to step up to the plate, do everything we can to help out our brothers and sisters and families in need,” Johnson added. “I want to send a message to the people of Houston: You’ve got to stay strong, and hold onto faith.”

Johnson noted his family went through Hurricane Andrew, the devastating Category 5 storm that demolished much of south Florida in 1992. “We survived and we got stronger, and so will you.”
