Atlanta-filmed “Baby Driver” honored at SXSW

“Baby Driver,” a high-speed thriller with Ansel Elgort in the title role and also starring Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm, Lily James, Jon Bernthal and Eiza González, felt the love deep in the heart of Texas.

The movie, filmed in Atlanta and due out Aug. 11, was among the Audience Award winners at the prestigious SXSW festival.

Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War” will film in Atlanta soon

The latest Marvel movie headed our way is “Avengers: Infinity War.” Actually, it’ll be two “Avengers” movies.

The project reunites many cast members who have been in Atlanta for previous films, including “Captain America: Civil War” stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Robert Downey Jr.; “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” stars Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana; Karen Gillan, who will appear in “Guardians” as well as the recently wrapped “Jumanji”

Casting call: “Pitch Perfect 3” will turn Atlanta into France and New York

A “Pitch Perfect 3” casting call seeks to fill lots of background roles, and the details indicate scenes will portray France and New York.

On Feb. 14 and 15, the project is looking for “those to help make ATL look like France; We will be shooting a beautiful flower market we are creating.”

HOUSTON – Falcons and Patriots players, media pundits and fancy sports figures are all here at Minute Maid Park for Super Bowl Opening Night.

Dedicated fans eager for a glimpse of (and perhaps a selfie with?) their sports heroes have filed into the stands while journalists mill around trying for a word with this guy or that. A concert and fireworks are coming next and judging from the vat of earplugs

Donald Glover thanks Atlanta after “Atlanta” wins Golden Globe

The Golden Globe goes to “Atlanta.”

And the thanks goes to Atlanta.

The FX series’ creator and star Donald Glover gave a shout-out to the ATL upon accepting the award for Best Television Series Comedy or Musical. He later picked up his own trophy for Best Actor In A Comedy Series.

“I really want to thank Atlanta and all the black folks in Atlanta, just for being alive, just for being amazing people,” he said.

Marvel’s latest Atlanta-filmed project stars Tom Holland in the title role. “Spider-Man: Homecoming” was headquartered at Pinewood Studios like “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” before it.

Spidey filmed at locations including a downtown street right around the corner from where a key “Captain America: Civil War” scene filmed and at Grady High School.

The movie is due out July 7 and the first trailer has just been released. Can you spot Atlanta?
