Georgia players rolled into downtown Atlanta moments ago ahead of Monday’s national championship.

The weather’s just a little different than it was in sunny Pasadena, site of the Bulldogs’ historic Rose Bowl victory over Oklahoma.

UPDATE: Lots of tickets still available for the national championship

But Friday’s arctic temperatures didn’t detract from the warm welcome the team received.

The Big Dawg will be in the house come Monday. Trent “Big Dawg III,” that is.

The superfan who carries on the tradition started by his grandfather and made famous by his father – attending University of Georgia games with a bulldog painted on his head – was able to attend the Rose Bowl courtesy of Atlanta-based PrimeSport. Shortly after we posted an item this morning on the $95,000 Stubub listing for Monday’s National Championship game, aimed at a flush fan who wants to cheer on either the Bulldogs or Crimson Tide in style, we heard from a site offering tickets at a relative bargain.

Vivid Seats had tickets for under $1,800. Scratch that. Not 5 minutes after we heard from Vivid, the lowest priced offering

Outrage at the photo of Rev. Martin Luther King Newsweek posted

Newsweek deleted a photo it posted showing the remains of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. after outrage over the image.

King’s daughter Rev. Bernice King brought the matter to people’s attention with her post simply asking why. Newsweek apologized without explaining why the photo was used (see below).

Marvel’s latest “Avengers” movie has been filming in Atlanta. It’s headquartered at Pinewood Studios in Fayette County and has done some location work as well. Shooting a massive blockbuster is a huge, time-consuming job but stars Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth made space for a little side hustle.

Who’s Tyler Perry backing in the Atlanta mayoral race?

Entertainment mogul filmmaker Tyler Perry has enjoyed a strong friendship with Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed during the years Reed has run the city. He gives Hizzoner a shout-out in his newly released inspirational book “Higher is Waiting,” crediting Reed with turning him onto the Fort McPherson property where his studio complex is now located.
